Q: Will you tell me a little about your company?
A: First I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Michael Rosser Jordan. I'm the owner of Rosser Guitars, LLC located in North Carolina. My company was established in January of 2012, but I have over 20 years of experience building, restoring and refinishing guitars. My main focus now is building replacement guitar bodies. I offer both traditional and custom style bodies. My goal is to simply offer a large variety of high quality USA made guitar bodies at affordable prices.
Q: So you do make the guitar bodies?
A: I build every guitar body in house. I personally hand select all of the lumber used for quality and tone. I use a combination of CNC routing and traditional methods when making the guitar bodies.
Q: Is any additional sanding required for the unfinished bodies before the finishing process?
A: The bodies are sanded to 150 grit, so final sanding up to 220 grit is required before finishing.
Q: I see you are offering bodies on ebay. Are you no longer taking orders for bodies?
A: I've had to stop taking orders for bodies. I'm now only offering bodies for auction through ebay. It's just something I could not continue offering with the additional amount of time involved with custom orders.
Q: I've noticed that you mostly offer pine bodies. Can you give me some info on the pine you use?
A: The pine I use is eastern white pine. It is lightweight and is great for a guitar body. Tonally, it tends to have a lot of the best attributes of swamp ash and alder along with it's own sound. It has a nice amount of midrange and good clear highs with a nice twang. In my opinion, it is one of the best sounding tonewoods available.
Q: I have my own custom design for a guitar body, can you build it for me?
A: I'm unable to offer custom designs due to the amount of time and work involved in making the CNC program, jigs and templates.
Q: I have this beautiful piece of wood that would be great for a guitar body. Can you build me a body with it?
A: Unfortunately, sometimes accidents happen even when using a computer controlled CNC. Because of that, I do not use customer supplied lumber.
Q: Do you offer finishing services?
A: I'm no longer able to offer finishing services.
Q: Do you accept returns for guitar bodies?
A: I accept returns for guitar bodies within 14 days of delivery. The customer is responsible for all shipping fees. I charge a 20% restocking fee. The item must be returned in the original condition it was shipped.
Q: I see that you are not offering international shipping on ebay? Why is that?
A: Now that I'm only offering bodies for auction on ebay, the fees are just way too expensive for me to be able to continue offering international sales.
Q: I checked out your Guitar Gallery, and you make some really nice looking guitars. Are you still offering guitars?
A: I do occasionally build guitars as time permits. Any guitars I have available for purchase will be listed for sale on my website.
