Q: Will you tell me a little about your company?
A: Certainly. First I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Michael Rosser Jordan. I'm the sole owner of Rosser Guitars, LLC. My company was established in January of 2012, but I have over 15 years of experience building, restoring and refinishing guitars. My main focus now is building unfinished guitar bodies. I offer both traditional and custom style bodies. My goal is to simply offer a large variety of high quality USA made guitar bodies at affordable prices.
Q. So you do make the guitar bodies?
A: Yes. I build every guitar body in house. I personally hand select all of the lumber used for quality and tone. I use a combination of CNC routing and traditional methods when making the guitar bodies.
Q. Will you give me some info on the pine you use?
A: Sure. The pine I use is Eastern white pine. It is a very lightweight high quality lumber. It has some really beautiful grain so it is excellent for transparent and burst finishes. The lumber is kiln dried for stability. Tonally, Eastern white pine tends to have a lot of the best attributes of swamp ash and alder along with it's own unique sound. It has a nice amount of midrange and good clear highs with a nice twang to it. In my opinion, it's one of the best sounding tonewoods available.
Q: I have my own custom design for a guitar body, can you build it for me?
A: Sure. I can do that for you. I charge a one time non-refundable fee of $125 for my time and labor in making the CNC program, jigs and templates. The price for the body would be the same as the pricing for the standard models I offer which depends on the type of lumber you choose.
Q: I have this beautiful piece of wood that would be great for a guitar body. Can you build me a body with it?
A: Unfortunately, sometimes accidents happen even when using a computer controlled CNC. Because of that, I do not use customer supplied lumber.
Q: I see that your listings are for unfinished bodies. If I purchase a body from you, can you finish it for me?
A: Because of the amount of time involved with finish work, I am no longer offering finishing services for custom order bodies.
Q: Is final sanding required for the unfinished bodies before the finishing process?
A: Yes. The bodies are sanded to 150 grit. So final sanding up to 220 grit will be required before the finishing process.
Q: Do you accept returns?
A: I accept returns for guitar bodies within 14 days of delivery. The customer is responsible for all shipping fees. I charge a 20% restocking fee. The item must be returned in the original condition it was shipped.
Q: Do you offer international shipping?
A: I do offer international shipping for made to order guitar bodies. However, I'm not able to offer international shipping through my website. International customers need to contact me direct through the Contact page on my website or through my email email@example.com.
